and at war with the winds
where I go no one can follow
for it's a war within
the sun, is watching me sleep
the moon, every step I take
the stars are screaming
as they fall from the sky
only by the embers
I am embraced

these visions disturb and haunt me
with each breath I take
the dead curse and slant me
they're calling out my name
searching for my sanity
paranoia's become my name
ashamed and without dignity
as I am forced to face
my defeat

the rain is trying to drown me
as the trees block my way
the earth tries to reclaim me
wherever may lay
the sands slowly engulf me
whenever I am still
am I the only one who sees these things?
or am I mentally ill?
